Summary
Linux as a server for Windows clients
Abstract
Christoph Doerbeck shows us Samba, an open source software suite that provides seamless file and print services to SMB/CIFS clients such as Windows 95/98 and NT Workstation. Agenda: * What is SAMBA? ( gloss over of SMB, CIFS, & NFS ) * Compiling source ( options, installation ) * Configuration ( shares, integrating with NIS, printer shares ) * Demonstation Background: Unlike most of my Linux related experience (at home hobbiest), I have actually configured and supported SAMBA in a commercial environment. I will have plenty of real world experience to share.
